Local Area
Conway's Bed & Breakfast is located in Claremorris, the heart of County Mayo in the west of Ireland. There are lots of activities for you to enjoy during your holiday or vacation.

The area is steeped in history, we are near Knock Shrine, Ireland's National Marian Shrine where on the 21 August 1879 Our Lady, St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist were seen in an apparition at Knock Parish Church. Coilmore is an ideal base for pilgrims or visitors to use when visiting the shrine. Other religious places of interest include the historical Ballintubber and Ballinasmale Abbeys. The Museum of Country Life in nearby Castlebar portrays the lives of people who lived in rural Ireland in the last 150 years, it is also the first branch of the National Museum outside Dublin.

Mayo is renowned for it's fishing. With some of the most beautiful rivers and lakes in Ireland, offering guests some of the best fishing in the world. In Ireland there is no closed season, fishing is free and you don't need a licence.

Claremorris has a public swimming pool, excellent golf club, a plethora of restaurants, take-aways and snack bars. There are also many welcoming traditional Irish pubs in the town, where you can enjoy a Guinness while listening to local poets or music.

Further afield, Mayo has miles of unspoilt coastline, accessible by a drive or train journey. Worth a visit is the holy mountain of Croagh Patrick and the National Famine Monument near Westport. Also worth a visit is the beautiful Achill Island, and the Céide Fields which are the oldest known field systems in the world, over five and a half millennia old.

Whether you're coming to Mayo to see local places, relax or visit family, we would be delighted to offer you a comfortable place to stay at Conway's Bed & Breakfast.
